PlayStation mobile "could happen"

The president of Sony Ericsson says he would be interested in carving out a niche for the handset maker based on the strength of the PlayStation brand.

Hideki Komiyama told the Financial Times that the company had failed to stay on top of technological developments in the mobile business.


Having already integrated Sony's Walkman and Cybershot brands into its phones, Komiyama said a PlayStation mobile "could happen".

"If we do not adapt to this new technology or new market environment, we're going to lose," he added.

Do you not think that Sony are trying to do too much with the Tech ideas? I mean they are surely bringing out the PSPv2 but if they release a PS Mobile (I know it's just talk at the moment) what does the lifespan look like? Would you go for the PSPv2 or the PS Mobile considering they would probably match each other in the OS factor AND the PSPv2 would be far more advanced, once again I think it would boil down to "DO I need this mobile or would it just be another add to my PS collection of tech gadgets?".
