Moving PS3 HDD To New System?

My PS3 (backwards compatable 60GB) YLODed for the 3rd time, and the repair guy I go to says the system is probably toast, so I'll probably have to get a new PS3. However, I am aware that moving my save data to a new system is not an easy task.

So has anyone found a way around Sony's idiotic setup to move HD data to a new system? I really really, REALLY don't want to have to start my games over again and alot of my PS1 & PS2 game saves are on the HD too

Sorry to hear about your PS3. Unfortunately there is no way I know of to recover games saves etc from the HDD. Each HDD is locked to the specific PS3 it came out of therefore will only work in that PS3, not much good if it's broke I know.

Maybe other members know of ways to recover the game saves from the HDD?

try to send save data to your pen drive on any storage device I know that some of the games are protected so you wont be able to copy save data but some of the games are not protected so you can try copy these saves just in case

Only problem with that soul is that the HDD can not be read as you need the same PS3 to access the HDD.
