Resident Evil REmake REreleases for the PS3, PSP and the Wii

It's been a whole 3 years since the last RErelease/REmake of the first Resident Evil game (Resident Evil: Deadly Silence for the Nintendo DS) and just when you thought an entire generation of consoles would slip by without getting their turn at the zombie game that started it all, Capcom has announced not one, but two REreleases of REmakes.
First is a rerelease of the very first REmake, Resident Evil: The Director's Cut available May 28th via PlayStation Networks…well, it's not exactly a REmake, but an expanded version of the original, shipped 18 months after the first RE graces the PlayStation 1. Back in 1997 fans were chomping at the bit for Resident Evil 2, but when the ship date got delayed, this upgraded version of the original was REleased to satiate their appetites for undead blood. Not only did fans who bought the original (REmember those oversized PSOne boxes?) grabbed this one, but was also snagged by many who missed it the first time 'round, making The Director's Cut the most well known of the PSOne REleases. The upcoming PSN version will be playable on the PlayStation 3 and the PSP.
Second is Resident Evil Archives, a Nintendo Wii, RErelease of the 2002 GameCube REmake. Although it sports the same basic design of the original, it's got new features, upgraded graphics and controls with more modern sensibilities (but still no side-stepping darn it!) The Wii version will feature the exact same game as GC version, with some added content, plus the Wii motion sensitive controls that made the Resident Evil 4 Wii RErelease raise the dead
