Sony already plotting PlayStation 4?

Kotaku cite Japanese site PC Watch as learning of development work on the system from a Sony insider, with an alternative approach to the PS3 on the cards.

Apparently, a multi-core design is under consideration, Sony hoping to make the new console easier to develop for, following complaints from developers about the PS3.



Cell and Intel based systems were ditched in favour of the multi-core stance, as was something called a Synergistic Processor Unit - although that sounds like something from A Space Odyssey to us.

According to speculation, all the three major platform holders are secretly working on new hardware, while a new console tales about 24 months to create according to this rumour.

New hardware from one if not all of the big three is possible in 2012 or 2013 most likely. That's, like, the future.

I wouldn't be surprised if.
Hopefully they wont release it for some years though...
I'll rather stay with the ps3 for another 3-4 years.

same here i dont wanna another ps4 now .. :( ps3 hasnt even been used 100% of it power games are using like 20-30% now and how they looks like ?! jesus i would ps4 in years 2015-2016 al least

Sounds good. it better be ps3 game compatable. also i hope that it isnt like $600 at first like the ps3 was that was crazy.

i bet ps4 will not even see daylight because as many people saying 2012 going to be end of world hahahhahhaha no im only messing i sure for the first year of released it'll be like €500 -€600 in Ireland familiar price my brother payed for ps3 in 2007

The launching of the playstation 4 is inevitable. The playstation has become less of a gaming console and more of an entertainment system. lol xbox 540 lol. ok but the xbox is an ok system except for the fail rate. yes ps3 is way more advanced but the xbox has some features that the ps3 lacks

Some I can think of are that theres more people using voice chat on ex bawks (for both good and bad)
and the ex bawks (sadly) does have more j-rpgs :(

I had a xbox 360 when it was first released and found the whole system plain with the page system similar to windows No doubt there have been many updates since then and many more features added but all I remember about my old 360 is the annoying washing machine sound of the dvd drive
The PS3 was released after the 360 so they had a little catching up to do with features but sure enough sony have released a lot of system updates adding great features to the PS3. In my opinion the PS3 is easier to use.
When the PS4 is released I am sure it will be an amazing machine and like the PS3 will be a full media system.

well they do have some better chat features.

in post it says about 2013 and ps3 has been released in 14 November 2006 so count years now ...... 7 years after so i think it a good time to release it because as a loooooot of people saying that in 2012 it a world will be gone hahahahahahahaahahahhaah
