After several months of new PS3 slim rumor, Sony finally introduced its latest yet cheaper and slimmer version of its popular PlayStation family at GamesCom event . This slim version will be available on 1 September at only USD 299. This makes PS3 slim a great combination of gaming system and blu-ray player package.
Sony also claims that PS3 slim is 32% smaller, 36% lighter, and 34% less power consumption. The older 80GB model has been discontinued and received price cut to USD 299 as well. Here are the official specs of PlayStation 3 slim:
