- The GameInformer March issue had an exclusive God of War 3 footage, but the quality of the scans were not the best, so surely a lot of us have overcome some of the details. GonzoDuke on GameSpot forums has posted some nice details from the article.
So here are the summary of the interesting details, below you will find the links to the original scans, and also readable better quality scans..
GameInformer march issues summary by GonzoDuke:
I have the March edition of gameinformer and it was some crazy info in here that I haven't heard talked about too much. These are actuall quotes from the mag!
It shows a picture of a huge wall with harpies and blocks sticking out of it. The caption reads, "The wall of Tisiphone is a massive gate in tartarus that requires combat and puzzles gameplay to open." Sounds like we're going to Tartarus. Nice!
"70 percent of the original GoW staff is working on GoWIII." - That's good news
Quote from Stig Asmussen states, "The best way I can describe it,is that you take the battle of Normandy and combine it with the movie cloverfield, and throw Kratos tight in the middle."
"Even Kratos' teeth are individually modeled."
"This level of realism extends beyond Kratos as well. One of Poseidon's minions - a cross between a horse and a giant insect - has a body made of water that flows beneath its skin with amazing realism.' - WHAT!?! Poseidon has minions! Water body! AWESOME!!
"All of GoWIII's movies are handled with in-game assets."
"So I can say there is a lot of planning going on in the sex-mini game right now" - SWeeeeeeet
"Another example literally offers a new perspective on the kill. As one of the bosses - who appears to be an old man (though the gods have been known to change forms) - nears death the camera switches to first person. Kratos approaches and begins to beat the boss with his bare hands. While players still enter the button inputs as normal, the entire scene is viewed and heard from the perspective of the victim, complete with the wet crunches of every solid blow." *jaw drops*
" New items like the fire bow use a regenerating power bar so they don't eat into your mana reserves."
"Don't expect to begin with the might of an end-game-character but you wont be faced with a contrived all-your-powers-are-gone scenario."
"You're going to be taking down gods beyond just the final fight. As if that weren't promising enough, not all the boss characters are taken straight from the Greek pantheon. You can look at the cast of characters from the end of GoWII and you can deduce the bosses from that. There are a handful of gods, and there might be some other ones waiting in the wings. There are obviously a lot of titans and Gaia. There are going to be more people that you aren't expecting involved as well." -- WOW!
"One confirmed boss is the God Hades.' -- SWEEEEEET. Best news yet!
"The fight against the lord of the dead takes place in a dark circular chamber as he whips hiw own blades at Kratos. The chamber starts to crumble as you do damage, and chunks of Hades skin - which resemble half cooked meat - will fly off and then try to wriggle their way back to their master."
"It's a solo experience. In Kratos' world there isn;t room for somebody else" - No multiplayer
"I'm not going to say whether he's alive or dead, but the story is dependent of Kratos, right? As far as I'm concerned, this story is written to close the book on the trilogy." Quote from Asmussen the directer. I bet Kratos dies.
"They're cool ideas, and we always look at them. I think you'll find some parallels - there's good stuff in there no doubt." -- Asmussen talking about the extras from GoWI like Kratos' bro. I can't wait for this game, I just finished replaying God of War 2. | |
