Noby Noby Boy hits the European PSN tomorrow, but what's it all about?

Namco’s Keita Takahashi, creator of Katamari Damacy, likes crazy games. Games filled with primary colours, blippy music and oddly blocky looking characters, and we love him for it. Katamari Damacy (and it’s sequels) are all brilliantly unique and endlessly replayable, and although the recent ‘next-gen’ rollathon was cancelled for the PlayStation 3, we do have a Takahashi game all of our own, and it’s out tomorrow.

Noby Noby Boy, as it’s known, isn’t simply a way to get our own Andy Torr excited, but a bastardisation of Nobi, or stretch in Japanese. And instead of rolling your character around, you stretch him - it’s quite simple: the left stick’s your head of your worm-like character, and the right stick’s the end. With these basic controls you’re able to stretch like mad, wrapping your ever-colourful quadrapedal around most things in the environment.

Much like Damacy, the bigger you stretch, the more points you get and the more you can wrap around, thus in turn allowing you to stretch further. It is much like The Prince’s adventures of past, but much more fun and even more dementedly absurd. The points you get are then submitted online via your friend, Girl, who herself will stretch out accordingly - the further she stretches the more environments you can unlock for Boy to stretch in.
